Artist

Augustin Luna is a doctoral student studying computational biology at the Boston University and conducting research at the National Cancer Institute; he holds an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. His doctoral research involves the visualization of experimental data and modeling cancer processes. This exhibit is the start of an experiment in visualizing concepts from his scientific research using aspects from minimalism and abstract expressionism.

Random Walks is a set of abstract computer-generated works that make use of basic rules and random chance to produce each piece. A random walk is a concept used throughout the works where each step is taken without memory of the last. Exhibit works were created using Processing.
